The Weight of Responsibility

Envision a government institution—an unintended role borne out of necessity. In the absence of nonprofit organisations stepping up to fulfil this critical function for the community, families find themselves with no alternative but to turn to the courts. When they do, they are stuck then to continue going to court for six years with lawyers being highly paid causing conflict and great stress between the parents and children. These courts process the cases of 90,000 families annually. Within their walls, a staggering $AUD40 billion in total family wealth intersects with the lives and well-being of 90,000 fathers, 90,000 mothers, and 270,000 children. This feeds lawyers from the wealth of these families around $10 billion. Taxpayers also have to pay other roles within the courts costing more billions of dollars. Furthermore: Mental health issues arise due to depression of both Kids and parents further adding to tax payer costs.

So how can we make changes to giving families or potential families better choices?

Court vs. Non-Profit handling the matter

A non-profit has yet stepped up to assist. Without their intervention, these figures will double and triple annually, exacerbating challenges for single parents and leading to a significant increase in youth crime. To address this, we utilize individuals with blue cards and Justices of the Peace to handle cases. Additionally, the growing rental crisis means that every year, the 90,000 separating parents require 180,000 homes, further straining resources. This situation leads to financial hardship for families, with nearly one-third losing contact with their children permanently. The outdated court system adds to the problem, requiring cumbersome processes and causing delays in addressing urgent matters. We propose an innovative online portal to provide transparency and prompt action on parental concerns, ensuring better outcomes for families.

How can we ensure everyone knows and engages families? It’s absolutely doable. While you’re here, why not encourage a young couple to drop by for a complimentary haircut you can shout them too?  Let’s talk about the risks if they don’t make agreements with us before starting a family, including bypassing costly legal battles. Our online portal, with ongoing costs exceeding $100,000, can achieve so much more with your generous donations.

Guiding Young Couples: A Compassionate Approach

Picture this: two young hearts, deeply in love, standing on the threshold of parenthood. But beneath their excitement lurks a fear—legal complexities could tear them apart from their child. They’re worried about court battles, an unwelcome weight on their happiness.

Imagine this journey of parenthood as a balancing act between love and anxiety. These soon-to-be parents share a common dread—the legal maze if their relationship falters, casting a dark cloud over their joy.

But what if, instead of pouring money into legal fees, they invested in building unforgettable memories with their children? Let’s invite families for a haircut and guide them through a better way, steering clear of those draining legal battles.

A Video Guide to Parenthood

Imagine a video guiding them toward a secure future. With our agreement, we’ll navigate their path if things take a difficult turn. Love and commitment should never buckle under legal complexities. Invite them in for a haircut, where you can provide complimentary vouchers. They embody the very essence of parenthood’s promise. Let’s watch the video together as we reshape the narrative, leaving behind the shadows of legal fears.

Building of Tiny Homes and Eco community centres.

Why is it that today’s youth struggle to afford their own homes or find suitable accommodation?

Consider this: students require housing. Australia’s economy thrives on two key pillars—coal exports and the influx of international students seeking higher education. With 90,000 couples separating, the demand for housing has doubled, with parents now seeking accommodation, including emergency options.

Enter the concept of Tiny Homes and eco-community centres.

Did you know homeowners can build second dwellings on their existing property, even along fence lines? Approval from local government is essential, and limitations on cubic meters vary by location.

Now, here’s where we come in. As a non-profit, our focus is on affordability. By dealing with large volumes and minimizing profits, we make housing solutions more accessible. Plus, with Government funding and Grants in our corner, we’re making strides.

Here’s a thought: if you own your home, wouldn’t it be enticing to increase its value by adding low-cost, affordable tiny homes? This could be part of our action plan, all while supporting a charitable cause.

Currently, we’re exploring innovative manufacturing methods inspired by boat builders. Fibreglass construction, offering insulation and sleek designs, promises efficiency and modern aesthetics at a fraction of traditional costs.

Let’s talk about the existing options for Tiny homes—they’re often less affordable due to the companies who manufacture don’t have production lines or ways to appealing to this market or letting house holders know of what they can have in accordance with local government initiatives. We aim to change that narrative.

So, if this resonates with you, or if you know someone who could benefit, why not suggest they join us? They’ll get a haircut and perhaps a brighter housing future, all in one visit. It’s time well spent.

How Child Benefits work:

A parent to receive 100% financial benefit must have the children 70% of the time. Let’s say, for this example, a father only has contact 30% of the time; he receives no financial benefit. They must have the children 35% of the time (36% for leap years) to gain financial assistance. This is why lawyers advocate for a 70%/30% time split for their clients to receive 100% financial benefit of having the children.

The impact of parental contact on children:

Children who are denied regular contact with one parent make up significant proportions of various negative statistics. They are more likely to commit suicide, run away, drop out of high school, abuse substances, and end up in state institutions or prison then maintaining contact with both parents.

According to Queensland Parliament, 85% of all abuse victims are from single-parent homes.   Phil Reeves, Child Safety Minister, stated in 2009 that out of 2491 substantiated abuse cases:

1335 occurred in step/blended families, 2770 in single mother households, and 284 in single father households.

It’s evident to Children’s Rights Australia that children having less contact with fathers contributes to these statistics. Fathers often fear losing custody, leading them to maintain peace in the relationship. When visiting the shop, if you’re still in a relationship with children, please visit with your partner so both can indicate who the children will listen to more—the father or mother. We conduct the survey only when both partners are present, Grandparents also are welcome to participate.

Could you assist with our street collections?

If you could obtain our flyers for your neighbourhood and distribute them by placing them in letterboxes, it would significantly help us. Your efforts are invaluable. To facilitate this, having a positive reputation within your community is essential. Additionally, we must inform the Department of State Revenue when conducting these street runs, including details about those supporting the community. In recognition of your outstanding contribution to community support, your efforts will be acknowledged on our website. This acknowledgment can also enhance prospective employers’ understanding of your work ethics and excellence toward others.

To achieve our missions:

We sincerely appreciate your support, whether through financial contributions or by inviting friends to join us. Every effort counts, as we are dedicated to a worthy cause. Lives are at stake, and your care can make a significant impact.

When you make a purchase at our Op Shop, we’ll kindly inquire if you’d like to contribute to our projects. Think of it like a burger joint asking if you’d like fries with your order. Instead of fries, we’re inviting you to donate chips to drive meaningful change within the community. If a one-time payment is more feasible for you, consider purchasing flyers to distribute. Additionally, we offer gift certificates—a free haircut for every $15 contribution. These certificates can be given to individuals in relationships, helping them move forward and maintain happiness.

Even smaller recurring contributions matter. Whether it’s $10 per fortnight or just $1 per week, your support will help us build the necessary facilities and online systems. Let’s work together to create positive change!

Flyer Distribution and Clothes Collection:

If you’re willing to hand out flyers or collect clothes from people’s homes, please inform the manager. Your assistance in spreading the word about our cause is invaluable.

Hairdressers Needed:

We’re actively seeking more hairdressers. If someone could dedicate a day to charity work, we would greatly appreciate their help. Rest assured; we compensate hairdressers for their time. Part of the donations received goes toward maintaining the excellence of professional hairdressers.

If you possess other professional skills and would like to support or play an integral role in our mission, please request a form from the manager. You can specify how you’d like to contribute—whether it’s receiving payment or offering your expertise. Let us know what positive impact you can bring to the community.

There are many ways people can help. Every donation is 100% tax-deductible.

Domestic Violence is an issue, and here’s how we assist:

Parents, whether married, newlyweds, or entering a relationship, should agree contractually that it takes both parties to manage conflicts. In cases of police intervention related to domestic violence, the signed agreement becomes effective: both individuals must complete anger management courses. Community support is vital for running these courses.

In court, if one party can demonstrate this contractual agreement, they can contact Children’s Rights Australia. We facilitate evening sessions—one for men and one for women—over a 10-week period, funded by your donations. During these sessions, participants learn effective anger management, identify triggers, and respect each other’s values. The success rate is high, with nearly 9 out of 10 participants showing consideration for each other.

Both parties can then request a 10-week refrain from court orders based on their commitment to violence prevention. This proactive approach stabilizes relationships, especially when children are involved.

Currently, there are as few as 8 in 1,000 who want to marry due to legal processes, financial concerns, and worries about children’s futures. We aim to foster love and prevent relationships from becoming financial transactions.

Our role is to support the government in finding new solutions, preventing burdens on society. Donations are needed to provide assistance at little to no cost, depending on financial positions. Internal financial issues often trigger conflicts, and asking for lump sum payments exacerbates worries. We have willing helpers, but covering premises and electricity costs is essential for community support.

In recent Queensland flood crises, thousands offered accommodation, but manual coordination hindered implementation. We received Grant money to provide an automated system akin to Booking.com to streamline connections for people offering to people receiving for  the Queensland Governments Crisis Centre.
